On April 3rd, during the Annual Event of the EfVET Tourism Thematic Team (TTT), MICROIDEA took centre stage at a dedicated roundtable discussion held at SEPR\u2019s Gastronomic School in Annonay, France. With 20 participants from across Europe, the event provided a valuable platform for engaging Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n
MICROIDEA, an innovative project designed to enhance micro-credentials in VET, was introduced to EfVET members alongside its key offerings: the \u00abWaiter\u00bb training course<\/strong>, online tools for skills self-assessment, and job search resources\u2014all connected to ISO\/IEC 17024<\/strong>. These tools aim to improve quality and innovation within VET, addressing the growing importance of micro-credentials in lifelong learning and skill recognition across Europe.<\/p>\n The response from participants was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring MICROIDEA\u2019s relevance in both the VET and tourism sectors<\/strong>. Discussions highlighted how its holistic system aligns with industry needs and contributes to strengthening competency frameworks.<\/p>\n Beyond the MICROIDEA roundtable, the EfVET Tourism Thematic Team Annual Event<\/strong> showcased forward-thinking initiatives in sustainable tourism education. With over 60 attendees, the gathering explored topics such as: Innovative rural tourism models from around the world, VET development strategies within the EU framework, EU Commission\u2019s tourism priorities and future direction etc.<\/p>\n
