The event welcomed policymakers, higher education leaders, VET providers, European University Alliances, EdTech experts, and\u00a0labour\u00a0market stakeholders to explore how micro-credentials are reshaping lifelong learning ecosystems across Europe and beyond.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Under the theme\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWhere Technology Meets Micro-credentials\u201d<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0MCMC 2026 offered a dynamic platform to discuss quality assurance, digital and stackable credentials, recognition frameworks, and the role of micro-credentials in enhancing employability and inclusion. Across a 3-day program, participants engaged in masterclasses, policy dialogues, and case-based interactive sessions highlighting both strategic frameworks and concrete implementation models. From vision to practice, sessions\u00a0showcased\u00a0implementation of case studies from universities, alliances, and technology providers. The discussions focused on ensuring quality and trust, the key\u00a0elements\u00a0and roles in micro-credentials for designing, evaluating, assessing, and\u00a0recognising.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">EfVET\u00a0contributed to the program with a session on the last day of this event, under the\u00a0labour\u00a0market stream titled\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cBridging Skills Mismatches and Certification through Micro-credentials.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The session presented the results of the MICROIDEA project, which connects\u00a0labour\u00a0market needs with modular curricula and micro-credentials. One of the attendees was curious about the transferability of the skills portal to other EU countries, which in the case of MICROIDEA is a key outcome of its long-term sustainability plan.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At the end of the session, an OECD representative\u00a0raised interest in the MICROIDEA project and\u00a0congratulated us on the presentation and the project results.\u00a0The representative also mentioned the potential use of the MICROIDEA project as an example for an upcoming report from OECD on skills\u00a0development\u00a0and\u00a0microcredentials.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The MCMC 2026 atmosphere reflected a shared understanding: micro-credentials are no longer experimental tools but strategic instruments to\u00a0modernise\u00a0education and training systems.
