Welcome to Microidea
Our Erasmus plus wants to introduce a holistic methodology for establishing the principles for designing, issuing, assessing, validate and certificate microcredentials commonly recognized in a European level, integrated into the existing quality assurance system.
What we aim for!
The aim of Microidea is to discover, cultivate and evaluate an innovative method for implementing and recognizing microcredentials. This approach holds the promise of being widely adopted thereby enhancing education and training systems.
Additionally, Microidea aims to extend the impact of its groundbreaking results on a European level ensuring their applicability across various thematics, geographical settings, policy sectors and target groups.
The challenge
The growing necessity for innovation in education and training systems is indicated with a particular focus on the crucial role of innovation in teaching and learning at both individual and institutional levels. Micro-credentials are identified as having significant potential to support lifelong learning and foster more inclusive and flexible learning opportunities. Several key factors driving the development of micro-credentials include the rapidly changing nature of work, increased demand from learners for shorter and targeted learning experiences, employers seeking candidates with specific skills, technological advancements in digital credentials and government policies promoting upskilling for global economic competitiveness. The overall track suggests that micro-credentials will play a vital role in addressing the evolving demands of education and employment.
The objectives Microidea pursues are outlined as follows:
- The development of a micro-credential system that would be linked to ISO 17024.
- The development of a methodology to balance between National certification systems and an international validation/certification system the ISO/IEC 17024.
- The design and implementation of an outline tool to underpin the skills needs analysis which will be open access for all.
- Implementation of the introduced micro-credential system for an occupation of the Tourism sector.
- Communication, dissemination and exploitation of project outputs and results ensuring the continuity of the project’s impacts and influence after its competition on relevant European policies.
The result
The result of Microidea include a microcredential system linked to ISO/IEC 17024, a methodology to balance between National and International certification system. It will be online tool to underpin the skills needs analysis open to all and a microcredential system for an occupation of the Tourism sector.
